Who We Are

Eyolf Sport is a consumer division of EYOLF Inc. ("we," "us," "our"), a Canadian company that designs and manufactures climbing, rescue, and rope access equipment from our facility in Fergus, Ontario, Canada.

This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information collected through the Eyolf Sport website (eyolfsport.ca), including our email notification sign-up. It is written in plain language to meet the requirements of Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA), Quebec's Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (Law 25), and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

What We Collect and Why

We collect personal information only for the purposes described below. We do not collect more than we need.

Email address — When you sign up to be notified about product availability or retailer launches, you provide your email address. We use it solely to send you the commercial electronic messages you have consented to receive.

Technical data — When you visit our website, our hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare) may log standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and page requests. This data is used to operate, secure, and improve the site. It is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising.

CASL — Consent to Commercial Messages

By submitting your email address through our sign-up form, you expressly consent to receive commercial electronic messages from Eyolf Sport (EYOLF Inc., Fergus, Ontario) — gear news, event dates, and retailer updates. You may withdraw this consent at any time. Instructions for unsubscribing are included in every message we send, and you can also contact our Privacy Officer directly.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed to our communications. If you unsubscribe, we flag your address as suppressed in our system so that we do not contact you again — we do not delete it immediately, because suppression is what prevents accidental re-contact. Suppressed addresses are not used for any further communication.

We review our mailing list periodically and remove suppressed records that have been inactive for an extended period. If you would like your record deleted entirely, you may request this from our Privacy Officer.

Third-Party Service Providers

We may share your personal information with third-party service providers who help us operate our website and deliver communications. These providers act only on our behalf and are not permitted to use your information for any other purpose.

Cloudflare

Website hosting, content delivery, security, and bot protection. Cloudflare processes standard technical request data (IP address, browser type, page requests) as part of operating our infrastructure. Their Web Analytics product does not use cookies and does not collect personal data.

Email Marketing Platform

We use a third-party email platform to manage our subscriber list and send commercial messages. Your email address and consent record are stored within this platform and used solely for the purpose you signed up for.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for their own marketing purposes.

Cross-Border Data Transfers

Some of our service providers, including our email platform, may store and process data outside Canada, including in the United States. When your personal information is transferred outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of the country where it is stored.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that service providers we work with maintain appropriate safeguards equivalent to the protections required under Canadian privacy law. Before transferring personal information outside Quebec, we conduct a privacy impact assessment where required under Quebec Law 25 and take contractual measures to ensure equivalent protection.

Your Rights

You have rights over your personal information. These rights apply to all users, with additional rights available to residents of Quebec.

Access

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you.

Correction

You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.

Deletion

You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain it.

Withdraw Consent

You may withdraw your consent to our use of your personal information at any time. This may limit our ability to send you communications.

Portability (Quebec)

Residents of Quebec have the right to receive their personal information in a structured, commonly used technological format, and to have it transferred to another organization where technically feasible.

Unsubscribe

Every commercial message we send includes an unsubscribe link. You may also withdraw consent by contacting our Privacy Officer directly.

To exercise any of these rights, contact our Privacy Officer at info@eyolf.ca. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies and Analytics

This website currently uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. This tool does not use cookies and does not collect personal data or build user profiles. It measures aggregate traffic patterns (page views, referrer sources) without tracking individual visitors.

We may in the future add other analytics or advertising tools (such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel) that collect personal data and use cookies. If we do, we will update this policy and implement a cookie consent mechanism before those tools are activated. Non-essential cookies will not be set without your prior, informed consent.

Confidentiality Incidents

In the event of a confidentiality incident — meaning unauthorized access to, use of, or disclosure of personal information — EYOLF Inc. will assess the risk of harm to affected individuals. Where there is a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and report to the relevant regulatory authority (the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or the Commission d'accès à l'information for Quebec residents) as required by applicable law.

Children's Privacy

Our website and products are not directed at anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer and we will take prompt steps to remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If the changes are material — meaning they affect how we collect or use your personal information — we will notify you by email if we hold your address, and post a notice on our website prior to the changes taking effect.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
